Ross Perot Jr. has been named the new chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as it lobbies for policies it believes will achieve 3% economic growth, Axios reported.
While the influential lobbying group supports President Donald Trump’s efforts to relax regulations and extend his tax cut, the Chamber is worried about the impact tariffs will have on small businesses and the economy, Axios said.
“This year is going to be tough,” Perot told Axios. “We’re waiting for the tax code, and so you’ve got a little bit of uncertainty there. Then I think people are waiting on where we are going to go on tariffs. Once that settles down, we can all go to work.”
